The Asking

Kirk will say one of these ‘Askings’ and you will finish by saying “I do/I will”!

NAME, on this day will you take NAME to be your lawful wedded husband/wife, will you show love, forgiveness, compassion, and cherish him/her from this day forward as long as you both shall live?

NAME do you take NAME to be your husband/wife, do you promise to love and cherish him/her, stand by him/her whatever may come and give your relationship all it requires and deserves, so that you can live the rest of your lives together in love and happiness?

NAME, do you come here freely, and without reservation to enter a relationship as companions living together as a married couple? Do you promise to love, respect, support and look after each other for the rest of your lives? Will you take NAME to be your lawful wedded husband/wife? Will you love and respect him/her, be honest with him/her and stand by him/her through whatever may come?

Will you take NAME to be your lawful wedded husband/wife? Will you love and comfort him/her, honour and adore him/her, as long as both shall life?

Will you NAME take NAME to be your lifelong partner? Will you make the daily effort to listen and communicate to him/her? Will you be gracious and generous in your giving? Will you work towards what is best for him/her and you both, for rest of your life?

NAME will you take NAME to be your husband/wife and your lifelong partner? Will you constantly try to stay aware of your relationship with him/her, striving to always communicate with him/her, be sensitive of his/her needs and wanting him/her success and happiness through all the years ahead?

NAME, marriage is a precious gift. Together you will build a lifelong partnership of love, trust, loyalty, friendship and respect. Will you take NAME to be your husband/wife and love, cherish and respect him/her always?

Will you, NAME, keep NAME as your favourite person — to laugh with him/her, go on adventures with him/her, support him/her through life's tough moments, be proud of him/her, grow old with him/her, and find new reasons to love him/her every day?
